Strait of Hormuz tensions spark global food security warnings as Iran standoff escalates

Tensions are rising on an international level between Iran and the Western nations due to the blockade imposed on the Strait of Hormuz, with the UK issuing a warning about a possible global food shortage. Although the US and its allies have apprehended some prominent individuals during their investigations, the Middle East continues to be a hotspot where the World Health Organization is presently battling the outbreak of a deadly virus, Ebola, in the DR Congo, compounded by the unstable security situation in the region.
